So Much Content, So little time!

As Mark Schaefer states in The Ignition Switch, “the amount of content available and our capacity to consume it – are in transition” (pg12). The web is exploding with content and people don’t have the time or energy to keep up. This is why I believe Twitter is the best communication medium of all time. In 140 characters you get the top news stories within seconds. It is also the best way for our campaign to communicate with the public. As Schaefer explains it is the best way for companies to promote, discover, and organize their content (pg8). While other social media platforms such as Facebook bombard users with ads that popup on your newsfeed, Twitter utilizes hashtags that keep users organized while engaging them in conversation. Content supply is increasing while demand remains flat, so it is important that any posts on social media reaches the right target market for your company or brand. Engaging with customers over social media is another important result of the content shock. One of the best ways to converse with their audience is over Twitter. It is the fastest way to respond to company crisis and provide the best costumer service.
